For the second year, Barcelona hosts the Extreme Sailing Series, a season of sailing events specially designed for the spectators. In 2018, the Extreme Sailing Series involves 8 countries on 3 continents, attracting some of the best sailors in the world who compete in hydro-foiling GC32 catamarans along short, quick courses that last from 10 to 15 minutes each. Created in 2007, Extreme Sailing Series is a stadium-shaped sailing circuit, specially designed for the viewrs. Barcelona is the 3rd stop of the Extreme Sailing Series this year and from June 14 to 17, the city will be full of free activities based around the world of sailing, which are open to everybody. To enjoy the impressive spectacle of the participating catamarans, head to the free-to-enter Race Village located on Barceloneta, at Plaça Rosa del Vents, as well as Sant Sebastià Beach. I you prefer, you can get a VIP experticket ence that lets you race on board one of the high-speed boats as a Guest Sailor, other VIP options are also available!
In addition to Barcelona, the Extreme Sailing Series will travel to Muscat (Oman), Riva del Garda (Italy), a Portuguese city to be determined, St. Petersburg (Russia), Cardiff (United Kingdom) , San Diego (United States) and Los Cabos (Mexico).
